Weekend and spectacle “From Flames to Light”
Planning :
Day 1 :
On the outskirts of Verdun, in the natural setting of the Haudainville Quarry, young Europeans meeting in Verdun depict the suffering of their great-grandparents and consider the problems of Peace. A total of 600 volunteers pass on the twofold message of “Memory” and “Peace” through a vividly-coloured sound and light show. Sound and light show (at nightfall).
Arrive in Verdun at 13h45
Afternoon : from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. : discover the battlefields through a guided tour :
- Memorial Museum
- Fort Douaumont
- Douaumont Ossuary
- Bayonet Trench
Evening and diner spent in the hotel in double room.
21h30 : Go to the show, at the outskirts of Verdun.
Show: From the Flames to the Light.
Night at the hotel.
Day 2 :
Breakfast at the hotel
Morning: visit the town at your leisure, including the Underground Citadel, the Dragées Braquier factory (sugared almonds) and the World Peace Centre.
